The Warea Project
Sharing with you the story behind this Project. This project is going to be one that will be in our hearts forever.

We were contacted by Deanne before Christmas 2021 after her daughter, Ally had visited an open home of a project we had been involved in. The agent had so generously passed our details onto Ally and immediately told her mum, “Mum, you need these guys to come and do our house”. How lucky are we that this chance open home inspection occurred! From this, Dea contacted us and we set the date to do our FREE initial consultation. Yes, it is FREE! Something this industry frowns upon, but something we feel is essential as it is the opportunity for both the homeowner and our team to ensure we are going to be a good team.
We met with Dea and instantly could see that this home was exactly that! A home! A home that raised two gorgeous children under the guidance of a loving and respectful couple. The physical home just needed a makeover. It had that essence of love and family. It has seen babies take their first steps, their first days of school and all the tears, challenges, laughter and tribulations that go along with this.
The home was built in the early 1990’s and had a great floorplan, it just needed a cosmetic makeover. And lucky for us, Dea had amazing taste….and she had complete trust in us as her project design team. She also had a trusting and loving husband who truly believed in the term, “happy wife, happy life!” To make this project even more special, Jake and Alex (Dea and Daz children) were just the best! Both are adults now but fully vested in the project and only wanting the best for their parents and the home they were raised in.

Jake lives at home and placed so much trust in us! He sat through the entire concept meeting and was brave enough to let us freshen up his bedroom. If you can’t tell by now, we just fell in love with this family and wanted to make sure this home was transformed that still reflected them….just a more modern version. And I think we definitely achieved that! The trades on board made the dream come alive and everyone worked hard to achieve the common end goal.
So what did we do? Effectively it was a cosmetic makeover. The home was transformed under the existing roofline with the layout remaining the same. The bathrooms were stripped back to their stud walls and plumbing remained in its same position. Both the ensuite and bathroom have a total new look with new tiles and fittings. The kitchen and laundry cabinets were removed and new ones installed. A small wall that separated the kitchen to the hallway was removed which opened up the home to create a more open plan space between dining and living. The existing flooring was removed (tiles and carpet) and a new hybrid flooring was installed throughout the entire common areas. New carpet was installed in the bedrooms. The internal walls of the home were completely painted including the new skirting boards that were installed after the floors. And to really set the project off…..a new entrance door was installed. First impressions count and we needed the exterior of the home to reflect the new interior!! To set the new door off….hardware, new entry tiles and a new roller door were installed. The scene was set! And a coastal, family home was created!
